Come and support a local scout group and also the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance by having your car washed at a fundraiser we’re holding this month (May, 2016).
We have teamed up with the 1st Wellington Scout Group to raise money for the charity and the scout group on Saturday, May 21 from 10am until 4pm.

(From left to right) Assistant Manager at Rumwell Farm Shop, Jacqui Manning, helps to clean a car with Shop Assistants, Cheri Gregory and Tom Smith.
We hope lots of people take advantage of the car wash as it is being held for two great local causes. Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance is our Charity of the Year and we are delighted that the scouts were happy to come on board for the fundraiser and also collect some money for their activities.
The car wash will be held in the Rumwell Farm Shop car park and will cost £4 per vehicle with £2 going to the Wellington Scouts and £2 to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.
The Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance launched in March 2000 and has flown more than 10,900 missions, many of them life-saving.
Its operational costs are more than £2 million a year and the approximate cost per mission is £2,500. With public support it is also able to purchase specialist pieces of equipment that aid its paramedics’ training and help to save lives across the two counties.
Dave Belfield, Executive Chairman at the 1st Wellington Scout Group, said: “We’re looking forward to the car wash and hope people in the area get behind the fundraiser and pop along with their dirty vehicles. The scouts are ready to work as a team and make each car sparkle.
“The money raised will be going towards improving the scouts camping and activities equipment benefiting all age groups across Scouts, Cubs and Beavers.”
