We are offering our tips below on how to select and care for your fresh Christmas tree this year.
Our real trees will be available from Saturday, November 23 onwards. Choose from the traditional Norway Spruce or the very fashionable Nordmann Fir.
Norway Spruce
The Norway Spruce is a favourite with its classic Christmas tree shape and well-known scent.
We’ve sourced them from a Somerset grower near us and they have been regularly pruned and shaped to produce a bushy and well-balanced tree.
They prefer a cooler room and need to be kept well-watered. Keeping them in a water holding stand that is topped up regularly will minimise needle drop.
Nordmann Fir
The Nordmann Fir is a very popular Christmas tree. The average tree has taken between eight to 10 years to grow.
The long dark green glossy needles are stunning and if the tree is stood in water, then the needles will remain well into the New Year.
Things to consider
When choosing a tree, you need to consider your decorations and colour scheme.
If you have lots of dangling decorations, don’t pick a tree that is too bushy, as they will not hang well. If you have lots of low voltage lights, a dense tree will give maximum impact.
Make sure you also measure the height of your room before picking a tree, you don’t want one that’s too small or one that will scrape the ceiling.
