Hospice receives £2,719 boost

St. Margaret’s Hospice was one of our chosen charities of the year for 2017 and we’re thrilled that we have managed to donate £2,719 to its cause.

Mike Sweetman, volunteer at St. Margaret’s Hospice, Anne Mitchell, Joint Owner of Rumwell Farm Shop and Calista Renault, Community Fundraiser at St. Margaret’s Hospice, celebrate the amount raised for the charity throughout 2017.

The money was raised in a number of ways from collection tins and two Charity Quiz & Supper Evenings to us donating 10p from each sale of our anniversary strawberry jam and also 10p from every pack of pear drops. We also teamed up with the 1st Wellington Scout Group and hosted a car wash in aid of the hospice in May.

We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all our staff, customers and the 1st Wellington Scout Group for helping us raise this fantastic amount of money for the charity during the past year.

St. Margaret’s Hospice, which is based in Bishops Hull, has been at the heart of Somerset’s community, for more than 37 years, delivering high quality, responsive and compassionate care to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness.

Last year St. Margaret’s Hospice cared for more than 3,800 people across Somerset. To provide this care they need to raise more than £9.5 million.

“Without the generous support of local businesses like Rumwell Farm Shop and the community, thousands of people facing the challenge of a life-limiting illness would struggle to receive the care and support they need.”
