Hundreds attend our Tasting & Craft Weekend

Hundreds of Somerset folk attended our free festive Tasting & Craft Weekend to help officially kick off the countdown to Christmas.

We hosted the Yuletide event on Saturday, November 25 and Sunday, November 26 and Father Christmas even made an appearance.

Anne Mitchell, Joint Owner of the farm shop and cafe, said: “The Tasting & Craft Weekend was a great success. It was fantastic to see so many people supporting local producers and crafters.

“The event was the ideal chance for customers to sample locally sourced food and drink items perfect for the festive season ahead. To add to all this, we also held a Craft Fayre. Local crafters attended to show off their handiwork and gave shoppers a chance to find that extra special Christmas gift.

“Items within the Craft Fayre to name but a few included jewellery, framed pictures, glassware, wooden gifts, Christmas decorations, greetings cards, cushions and handbags.”

There were tastings of Rumwell’s homemade produce including Christmas pudding, cake and mince pies and also chutneys.

Anne added: “Some of our suppliers such as Styles Ice Cream, House of Sarunds Chocolate and Confectionery, Wicked Wolf Exmoor Gin, Cotleigh Brewery, Boo Cottage Soaps and Quantock Lavender were also at the event.

“Volunteers from our charities of the year, Escape Support Group and St. Margaret’s Hospice, were also in attendance. They were on hand to chat to people about what they do to help people in the local community and sold raffle tickets in aid of the charities to win a Rumwell hamper.”
