Have you tried our Afternoon Tea?

Afternoon Tea is a British institution. It was introduced in Britain in the early 1840s as a snack to keep hunger at bay until the evening meal, which was generally served at 8pm.

It normally includes a selection of finger sandwiches with different tasty fillings, scones with clotted cream and jam and a variety of sweet pastries and cakes.

Did you know that scones were not a common feature of earlier forms of afternoon tea and were only introduced in the twentieth century?

Afternoon tea in our cafe would make a great birthday or anniversary treat. Advance booking is required, please call 01823 461 599 and select option four or email cafe@rumwellfarmshop.com.
