Many of the products sold in our shop come directly from our
farm - look out for our logo!
Selling local food not only helps to reduce "food miles",
but it also means that we can be fully confident about the quality and
freshness of the food that we sell. In addition to the fact that
the food is so traceable, our staff are very knowledgeable about it, so
if you have any questions please ask.
The beef products that we sell in the
Farm Shop comes from the Aberdeen Angus cattle we have on our Farm, and
we also sell our own pork products. As well as the great tasting
meat that comes from our happy slow-reared free range pigs, customers
also have the assurance of knowing exactly where their food has come
from and that we are RSPCA Freedom Food, PAI, Assured Food Standards and
Quality Pork Standard accredited. We care about the welfare of our
pigs, throughout their lives we give thought not only to their health
and welfare but also to their happiness. They lead stress-free
lives in the fields of our farm in the beautiful Somerset countryside.
Here they are free to roam in green fields or escape from the elements
to their purpose built shelters. We also now have piglets who are
growing happily and wallowing in muddy puddles!
The eggs we sell come from our 1,800
free range hens who roam amongst the apple trees. Our honey comes from bees which live in our 62 acre orchard.
The orchard also provides us with Cox, Bramley, Russett and Katy apples and Conference pears
and cherries. As well as fruit we grow a large variety of our own vegetables including swedes, peas and varieties of potato,
such as Wilja, Maris Piper, Desiree and Marfona.
We also grow herbs for sale in the
Farm Shop.
