Escape scoops a £2,200 donation

We’re so pleased to have raised such a great amount of money throughout 2017 for Escape Support Group, which was one of our chosen charities of the year.

The charity has been supporting families who have a child, or children, with disabilities or specific individual needs in the Somerset area for 17 years.

The £2,200 was raised in a number of ways from collection tins, raffles and two Charity Quiz & Supper Evenings to us also donating 10p from the sale of every bag of milk chocolate raisins and 10p from each sale of our homemade anniversary apple chutney.

We also held a car wash in aid of Escape in September. The 1st Wellington Scout Group gave a helping hand and we managed to raise £225 for the charity. We would like to thank all our staff, customers and the 1st Wellington Scout Group for helping us raise this incredible amount of money for the local charity during the past year.

Escape’s main aim is to provide fun activities, allowing children the opportunity to experience a positive childhood where they are integrated fully, and are able to share experiences that will enhance and enrich their lives, which other children and families may take for granted.

Sarah Phippen, Team Leader at Escape Support Group, said: “We would like to thank the staff and customers at Rumwell Farm Shop for the huge effort they have put in during the past year. We really appreciated their support. The money will help us to continue to subsidise all the activities, day trips and events we organise.
