Quizzers are invited to get tickets that go on sale this month (August, 2017) for our Charity Quiz & Supper Evening.
The event, which is in aid of St. Margaret’s Hospice and Escape Support Group, will take place in our cafe on Friday, September 29 from 7pm.
Joint Owner of the farm shop, Anne Mitchell, explained: “Our Charity Quiz & Supper Evenings have been very popular and this is the last one of the year so we’re advising people who would like to come to book their place as soon as they can.
“The evening is a great opportunity to get together with friends, maximum eight people per team, raise money for charity and also to be in with a chance of winning a prize and the glory of taking home our Rumwell Cup.
“The evening will be fun for all with good food too and in aid of our charities of the year, St. Margaret’s Hospice and Escape. Also on the night there will be a raffle with a selection of prizes from our shop, our suppliers and friends. All of the money from the raffle will be donated to the charities.
“Supper will be served from 7pm with hot food choices followed by a choice of desserts. The supper will cost £12.99 for two courses and the price includes a £1 quiz entry fee, which will be split between the charities. To book your table, please call us on 01823 461599 ext 4.”
St. Margaret’s Hospice as a charity, has been at the heart of Somerset’s community, for more than 37 years, delivering high quality, responsive and compassionate care to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness.
Last year St. Margaret’s Hospice, which is based in Bishops Hull, cared for more than 3,200 people across Somerset. To provide this care they need to raise in excess of £7.5 million. Without the generous support of the community, thousands of people facing the challenge of a life-limiting illness would struggle to receive the care and support they need.
Escape Support Group has been supporting families who have a child, or children, who have disabilities or specific individual needs in the Somerset area for 17 years.
Escape’s main aim is to provide fun activities, allowing children the opportunity to experience a positive childhood where they are integrated fully, and are able to share experiences that will enhance and enrich their lives, which other children and families may take for granted.
The children supported by Escape have a wide range of needs varying from severe learning or physical disabilities, sensory loss, autism and ADHD, to a child with a minor speech delay.
